Yo Yo Restaurant

Yo Yo Bar and Restaurant is a Japanese, Thai and Chinese Restaurant in Bradford/Shipley, the restaurant had a good reputation amongst locals but lacked any credible web presence to back that up and drive customers who weren’t located in Shipley. In December 2010 we launched a new website that encompassed good photography, and clear contact details which the old site failed to provide. The site had an immediate effect with a booking coming through the contact form within the first week of the it going live.

Information

With the old website proving difficult to navigate and lacking a clear page for contact details we decided to overhaul it with a modern and simple layout that ensured customers could easily see the menus without having to download multiple .pdfs. Whilst finding contact details were once near impossible, we’ve now ensured they are visible from all pages within the site. We’ve also integrated google maps so finding directions is simple. The site takes advantage of the wordpress platform, which allows for ease of updating, and works well alongside the social media management campaign.

Search Media Strategy

Prior to working with Breaktheseal the restaurant had a very low scale social media footprint. The owners were aware of the potential this new stream of online conversation could have, but simply did not have the time or resources to make it work. Our campaign began with identifying the 2 key platforms that Yo Yo Bar & Restaurant’s existing customers and local audience were prevalent on – Facebook & Twitter. Utilising the strengths of the individual social networks and working closely with the restaurant management allowed us to create a strategy that we would take full management of.

Social Media Results

Now in its twelfth month, the campaign has gone from strength to strength. Exclusive offers distributed through Twitter have brought in a stream of new customers, participating in local conversation has generated massive amounts of exposure through direct communication with the audience, putting a real face to the business. Loyalty to existing customers is thoroughly rewarded too, which has in turn boosted return rate to the restaurant, whilst one-off special offers have generated an incredible online buzz – 100 £20 vouchers sold in just 6 days!
