Google unjustly gets a hard time in my view for the quality of its searches, but really sometimes the results are so ridiculous I feel the need to document them.
Case in point, last night, searching Google News for Roger Federer. See exhibit a below:
Why is Google displaying a news article from the 2007 French open final as though it just happened?! As if I needed reminding anyway.
I can’t really pinpoint as to why this is, is it googles rubbishness? Have Sporting Life reorganised their site and republished the article? Theres no evidence to suggest the article has been re-published. I know the News section is an aggregated section, but surely google knows what to pull through? Or does it take everything sporting life publishes as de facto? And why does it say it happened 19 hours ago?!
I’m in the process of suing google for breach of contract with regards to search results. Wish me luck.
